I have been facing an error with the hp simplepass identity and I finally figured out a way to solve it
1. Go to control panel
2. Open Device manager
3. double click biometric devices and right click on validity sensors and click uninstall
4. then check the "Delete Driver Software For this device" and click ok
5. restart the computer and it installs again automatically and now works
P.S. the problem is not with the hp simplepass software so you don't have to reinstall it
